| The Care-o-bot helps older humans take care of their daily tasks and makes them feel good about themselves. According to the manufacturer, the robot manipulates household objects autonomously, so that the owner no longer has to wash the dishes or put away towels. As the pictures reflect, it can also be used as an excellent party butler. The bot is omnidirectional, with four wheels, includes a powerful three-finger hand, and has color cameras, laser scanners, and sensors to help it move within any environment and avoid obstacles. It’s also a latter-day R2: It has a laser projector near its ‘chest,’ for the impromptu powerpoint/movie night. |
